Why You Should Attend Meet Magento UK 2018

Why you should attend Meet Magento UK 2018There are a lot of ways to keep up to date with the Magento industry. The community is incredible and you’re almost never left in the dark on new developments. So why should you dedicate time to travelling to and attending a conference, especially when it’s all already available online?
Meet Magento UK is just around the corner, which means it’s time to remind ourselves why it’s worth making the journey to these events in person, and how they can benefit you and your eCommerce store.

1. Some Great Follow-Ups to Imagine 2018

Imagine 2018 has come and gone, but it left a trail of questions and new challenges in its wake. Meet Magento UK is an excellent opportunity to follow up on some of those questions. As are any other Magento events. Sessions such as The Road to PWA are a perfect example.
Much was talked about PWAs and how they would integrate with Magento at Imagine 2018. However, ultimately we were left with an announcement of the Progressive Web Applications Studio, and not much more. The Road to PWAs will build on what’s already available and talk about ways of making Magento stores run faster, now. There will also be a panel about PWAs too, allowing for everyone to contribute to the discussion and ask the questions they think need to be asked.
Meet Magento UK is also continuing the push towards improved user experience, with a session on how to incorporate UX into your workflow. This was talked about a lot with regards to the mobile checkout experience at Imagine 2018. It will be interesting to see how responsiveness makes its way into conversations about PWAs and their checkout experiences.

2. A Great Chance to Share Knowledge and Learn From Other Community Members

One of the best things about these Magento events is that they provide an opportunity to network with other Magento users. While the sessions can be great for picking up on specific knowledge and industry developments, just talking to fellow devs or users can provide insights you otherwise miss.
During Imagine 2018, we handed out our Magento 2 optimisation Guide. We’ll have more of these at Meet Magento UK to help everyone in the community to optimise their Magento 2 stores, regardless of their hosting provider. The optimisation guide comes complete with PHP optimisations, MySQL recommendations, and notes on how to implement Varnish and full-page caching effectively for Magento 2.

3. Learn About Relevant Industry Changes

GDPR is on the tip of everyone’s tongue at the moment, and for a good reason. The new regulations are going to mean significant changes for stores around the world. Talking at live events about how others have been handling these changes with Magento is extremely helpful. There may be things you have not considered.
As a hosting company, we’ve made sure to stay up to date with the changes that are coming with GDPR. Meet Magento UK is going to be the perfect chance to catch up with other professionals and see what moves they’re making (or have made) to stay compliant.
While there have been whispers as to what will happen once the UK leaves the EU, at this point, it looks as though the UK will still be implementing regulations similar to the GDPR once the UK’s exit from the EU is finalised.

4. Find More Ways to Optimise

With each Meet Magento event comes a host of optimisation strategies that extend beyond the Magento platform itself. These strategies are designed around minimising pain points for both you and your customers, by extending functionality or just making practices more efficient.
This year, we’ll be demoing our new cloud hosting solutions, complete with performance improvements and auto scaling capabilities. We believe we’ve created a hosting solution which makes managing a Magento store easier.

5. It’s London

Attending Meet Magento UK means you’re going to be in one of the world’s busiest and most exciting capitals. If you’re not British, this 100% means it’s time to do a little exploring. From huge tourist attractions like Buckingham Palace and St. Paul’s Cathedral, to quaint countryside pubs located just a short train ride out of the city, Meet Magento UK will be a conference location you won’t forget. We look forward to seeing you there!
