75% Off 3 Months of Managed Hosting: Position Yourself for Your Best Year Yet with Our Best Deal Ever

In 2020, a year that has been so hard on so many businesses, we are grateful for the resilience and determination of the agencies, sites, and stores that rely on Hostdedi.

Thank you for being our customers.

2020 Was a Game-Changing Year In Ecommerce

Let’s face it – 2020 was BANANAS. In this year alone, small businesses took massive hits in revenue, and nearly 100,000 closed their doors for good. Others have thrived.

Adaptability and resilience has been the name of the game for 2020. As brick and mortar businesses closed their doors due to COVID, ecommerce sales surged. Total online spending by May had skyrocketed by $52 billion, a 77% year-over-year increase.

This year was also an unexpected boon for ecommerce developers. In an industry already rife with demand, ecommerce development agencies saw an increase in demand for new websites. The total number of ecommerce sites, as of this year, now stands at over 24 million.

Where Ecommerce Companies Are Still Losing Revenue

The caveats to success in ecommerce are still there, however. Pages that load in more than three seconds deter 40% of traffic, and an estimated $18 billion in revenue per year is still lost due to cart abandonment.

Ecommerce is thriving, and the opportunity is growing rapidly. By 2040, it’s estimated that 95% of all purchases will be made online. That is astounding!

The problems with ecommerce still exist though, and now more than ever, it’s time to ensure your digital commerce site is speed optimized for conversions.

Positioning Yourself for Your Best Year Yet

No matter how wild it gets out there, Hostdedi is going to keep on giving you hosting you can count on. That’s been our focus throughout this crazy year – continue innovating, keep your sites online and safe, maintain fair prices, and keep providing the tools you need to stand up a new ecommerce shop, or maintain an old one.

This Black Friday, we’re gonna keep on keeping on by offering our customers our BEST SALE EVER. This is truly one for the record books, folks. Hostdedi has never offered a discount this deep.

We’re offering an unprecedented 75% Off 3 months of our most popular plans with code JOYFOR2021.

The Best Black Friday Deals for Digital Commerce

When it comes to physical gifts, I’m a minimalist. I try not to own more than fits in my apartment. But when it comes to my business – especially an ecommerce store – I want to make sure I have every piece of software that can help me make more money.

Now of course that starts with hosting – which we do here at Hostdedi. We’re giving you an unprecedented 75% off 3 months of our most popular Managed WordPress, Managed WooCommerce, or Managed Magento plans.

Once you get hosting, there’s a lot of plugins, themes, modules, and web apps to enhance your digital experience. I’ve scoured the internet, and found some of my favorite Black Friday deals that’ll help you do more with your store.

Look & Feel

No matter what you’re selling, you want a fast & beautiful theme.

For those of you already hosting on Hostdedi, we include Astra with Managed WordPress & Managed WooCommerce. For everyone else, there is a 30% off coupon. We love Astra because it’s incredibly fast & minimalistic. It’s a great starting point for any site.

Now that you’ve got a lean & mean theme, it’s nice to customize it and make it your own. You can take 25% off all Beaver Builder and even 30% off the Ultimate Addons for Beaver Builder (which is a 3rd party). Beaver Builder is a page builder that lets you customize the most important pages on your site (like your home page).

Regardless of what software you use to make your website, you’re going to want some high quality images & graphics to go on it. One of my favorite pieces of graphic design software is Affinity Designer and you can get 30% off right now.

Ecommerce Functionality

We support & love digital commerce, and right now, there’s a ton of deals for people selling things online.

First you can enjoy 30% off IconicWP WooCommerce plugins and bundles.

Again, we already include this in our Managed WooCommerce product. But if you’re on a different host, it’s a great piece of software that we include because it’s so powerful.

If you’re looking for a one-page checkout solution for WooCommerce, you can get 50% off Quick Checkout for WooCommerce.

And if you’re looking to customize the checkout fields for WooCommerce, you can get 50% off Conditional Checkout Fields for WooCommerce.

Marketing

Selling things online is great – but first you have to get people to your website! You can’t forget the marketing part of your online store or you’ll fail.

If you’re looking to expand into affiliates, one of the premier affiliate plugins in the WordPress space is AffiliateWP and it’s on sale now for 20% off.

One of my favorite ways to get traffic is by search engine optimization, also known as SEO. And the best tools in the WordPress space is Yoast. Take 30% off everything on their site through (date here?)

Functionality

Even if you sell things online, you’re going to want your website to do other things. Such as having a simple contact form, or developing a more extensive lead generation form. All of this can be done easily with 50% off Gravity Forms.

And if you love Gravity Forms you’ll love Gravity View, which lets you display the results of form submissions on the front end. They’re 30% off right now.

Conclusion

We hope you have a great Thanksgiving & Black Friday. Spend time with friends & family (socially distanced, of course) and maybe also buy some software to improve your online store.

Hostdedi and Oliver POS connect Ecommerce ans Brick & Mortar

As global ecommerce sales continue experiencing exponential growth, Hostdedi, a leader in digital commerce, is partnering with leading-edge software company Oliver POS, to roll-out revolutionary technology for WooCommerce merchants. This latest ecommerce application brings essential data directly into the point-of-sale system from the online store, connecting both channels for seamless inventory management and increased sales opportunities.

Oliver POS’ cloud-based technology provides real-time insights into inventory, products, sales, orders, customers, and more. This data is directly accessible from both the POS system and the online store. There is no need to configure or populate more than a single product catalog, and any changes made either in the store or POS system will automatically sync to the other platform. Providing real-time visibility into stock levels and a buyer’s history gives users across the business an easy way to complete a sale and provide a personalized experience to every customer. This data can drive upsell recommendations, discounts and offers, and special perks like free shipping at checkout.

“Typically, in-store and online sales run entirely separate from one another, leading to mismatched inventories, scattered data, and a lot of wasted time” says Jan Stilling, CRO of Oliver. “With Oliver POS technology, your WooCommerce store stays completely synced with your physical store at all times.”

Hostdedi is at the forefront of continuous innovation for WooCommerce and the store owners and agencies who use the platform. Through the partnership, Hostdedi will be the first solution provider to include this technology as a core feature of their Managed WooCommerce offering, giving SMBs and enterprises a much-needed tool to bridge the data gap between retail storefronts, online stores, pop-up shops and other outlets.

Even greater opportunities lie in the Oliver POS app store where Hostdedi will be actively leading new app development. The tool is designed to be customized, welcoming new apps that simplify POS interactions including marketing, accounting, scheduling tools and more – everything to make sales conversions easier.

“New application opportunities that elevate the customer experience and drive revenue at point of sale are limitless,” says Chris Lema, VP of Product at Hostdedi. “As ecommerce channels expand, the need for tech and data synchronization becomes even more important. We’re excited to be leading the way through open source innovation that provides tremendous value to the industry’.

Hostdedi Enhances Auto Scaling for Traffic Spikes

Hostdedi, the market leader in Open Source Digital Commerce, has launched a new feature designed to keep heavy-trafficked websites stable under strain. Hostdedi Advanced Auto Scaling is ideal for agencies & enterprises looking to plan ahead and optimize ecommerce performance during the extreme traffic spikes expected for this year’s holiday season.

Hostdedi Auto Scaling

For online stores, having a multitude of website visitors is similar to managing long lines in a brick and mortar store. When many people line up to check out at the same time, new registers will open to ease the flow and keep consumers engaged instead of enraged. Hostdedi launched Advanced Auto Scaling as a feature that continuously monitors websites for traffic and dynamically adds resources to accommodate bursts in user concurrency. When a scaling event is triggered and Hostdedi Auto Scaling is enabled, product pages and checkouts remain fast and crash-proof,  helping reduce cart abandonment while providing a consistent customer experience.

‘While significant traffic is a good problem to have, if you’re not prepared to handle it, you may lose a customer for life’ says Chris Lema, VP of Product at Hostdedi. ‘If you’re with a host that doesn’t offer auto scaling – or they can scale but it’s not automated – once your site gets overloaded, you’re likely to see delays and even crash. When Hostdedi Advanced Auto Scaling is enabled, it is “simply set it and forget it”. The magic lies in automation”, said Lema.

Pricing & Availability

Advanced Auto Scaling is available for every Hostdedi customer on any of our Managed Magento, Managed WooCommerce and Managed WordPress plans for $99/month. Providing even greater flexibility, if more resources are ever needed, additional containers with 10 PHP workers a piece can be added for $50/day.

At Hostdedi, we’re focused on delivering a (truly) managed content and commerce platform for SMBs and the Web Professionals who create for them.  Advanced Auto-Scaling comes to the rescue when traffic surges, maintaining speed, security and a great customer experience.   Hostdedi customers can promote flash sales, see activity from a post that goes viral, or prepare for seasonal spikes like holiday shopping with no worries that their site can handle success when it comes their way.

What is a 502 error?

Is your website throwing 502 errors? You’re not alone.

Plenty of site owners encounter this error page from time to time. It’s typically a problem related to an overwhelmed server that’s getting too many simultaneous requests. Fortunately, there are some things you can do about it.

Error 502s can present in a lot of different ways, and you can, in fact, code how these pages will be displayed. Here are just a few examples of what a 502 error page might say:

  • 502 Bad Gateway
  • Error 502: Bad Gateway
  • HTTP 502
  • Temporary Error (502)
  • 502 Service Temporarily Overloaded
  • Error 502

You get the idea.

What Causes An Error 502 Bad Gateway?

There are several HTTP status codes that a browser can display as a way to tell you that something has gone wrong, and what the error correlates to.

In the case of an error 502 bad gateway, this error code typically indicates that the server was not able to fulfill the request and load the page for the user.

There are a few different things that can cause an error 502 page to show up for a user, but most often, they’re typically related to two things: server capacity, and concurrent users, i.e. how much traffic the server your site is hosted on can handle, and how many users are making requests on your website.

The Cost of a 502 Error for An Ecommerce Site

The typical internet user navigates away from a page if it takes longer than three seconds to load. When your site gives them a 502 error message, how many users do you think will stick around and refresh the page? And once they leave, how many users will come back an hour or a day later?

Slow site speed coupled with 502 errors can make a dent in your conversion rate, ultimately costing you revenue and site profitability.

How to Fix a 502 Error

On the site owner side, a 502 error usually means there aren’t enough resources available to serve your webpage to all of your users. What’s likely the issue is that your host’s server is getting more traffic than it can handle. To fix this, you either need to upgrade your plan, or switch to a host with auto scaling (like us), so that when your site does get a traffic spike, users aren’t getting 502 errors.

When you switch over to Hostdedi, you’ll get a free site migration, a two-week free trial, and up to 24 hours of free auto scaling included with your plan – with no need to upgrade until you’re actually ready.

This means that the next time you do get a traffic spike, our servers will automatically compensate and deploy additional PHP workers, not only managing the extra traffic and preventing 502 errors, but keeping your website fast and high-performance.

If you’re stuck in a contract with your current host, Hostdedi will buy you out of it – click here to learn more about our Cover Your Costs program.

What is Server Time/UTC Time?

If you’ve ever had to work with servers, you’re probably familiar with UTC time, also known as Coordinated Universal Time. UTC time is the standardized time used by most computers and servers around the world.

On some level, any time your server does anything at a specific time or on a schedule, you’re using UTC time. Here’s a few examples:

  • Scheduling a sale
  • Scheduling a blog post
  • Charging someone’s monthly subscription order
  • Sending out follow up emails

UTC Offset

UTC is universal. For example, if my New York, USA server and my server in Sydney, Australia should have the exact same UTC time.  This works well for computers while humans use the local time for keeping time.

To make times a little easier to work with servers, use an offset.

  • New York uses UTC-4h or UTC-5h when not in daylight savings time.
  • Sydney uses UTC+10h and UTC+11h when in daylight savings.

These offsets will affect all of your scheduled actions. If you have a blog post scheduled for 8am the server will use the offset to determine when the post should publish.

Application Offset

In addition to a UTC offset for your server time, there are also application offsets. Here’s the timezone settings in WordPress which can be found under Settings -> General:

Whatever application you use (WordPress, Magento, etc.), you’ll likely have similar timezone settings.

These applications will often guess or set a default location. Sometimes this is based on your server location. For example, if my store is in Denver (which is mountain time) and my server is in New York (eastern time) my application will likely assume I want to use eastern time.

And if I want to close an application or end a sale at midnight it might actually end at 10pm mountain time and midnight eastern time. You’ll always want to check your applications local time to make sure it’s correct.

Why Are My Scheduled Actions Firing At the Wrong Time?

Generally speaking, you don’t have to know what UTC time is. But when you run into an application not working correctly, you’ll have to dig in and see where a time is set incorrectly.

  1. First, you’ll want to check your application (WordPress, Magento, etc.) and make sure those settings are correct.
  2. If your application settings are correct, then you’ll want to make sure your server has it’s offset set correctly.

If you’re using Managed WordPress, Managed WooCommerce, or Magento Cloud you can reach out to support for help. We’ll make sure your UTC time is set correctly, check your application settings, and point you in the right direction if it’s a 3rd party app.

Everything You Wanted to Know About Auto Scaling

One of the greatest advantages of hosting your website in the cloud is the ability to scale up or down quickly. Usually scaling will just take a few minutes and you can double or triple your server capacity.

Compare this kind of scalability to traditional hosting solutions where you have your own server (where it can take days or weeks to get a new server online), and you can immediately see why hosting in the cloud makes good sense.

Generally speaking, you choose your hosting plan based on where you are in your business lifecycle. If you know you’re near the limits of your plan you can upgrade quickly and prevent any downtime or slowness for your users. But what happens if your plan is the right size for you most of the time, but you have occasional traffic spikes – like when you launch a new product? That’s when auto scaling can save the day.

What is Auto Scaling?

If you’ve never heard of auto scaling before you can think about it like an HOV lane on the highway. When Hostdedi Auto Scaling is enabled, if our servers detect a surge of traffic, we’ll automatically open up an ‘HOV lane’ to manage the expanding traffic. The added resources (or lanes in our example) will keep your website experience fast & snappy, ensuring an undisrupted experience for your visitors.

How does Auto Scaling Work?

Auto scaling works by allocating additional resources from a resource pool. It gets triggered by analyzing PHP threads (also known as PHP workers) every minute, to see if demand outstrips supply. Once demand exceeds capacity, PHP threads are automatically scaled. Auto scaling then re-tests requirements every 10-minutes until it is no longer needed.

Back to the HOV lane example – if we see that your highway is in bumper to bumper traffic, we’ll add extra lanes to the highway to make sure each car can go as fast as they want.

The Benefits of Auto Scaling

Address Variable Traffic Demand – Without Having to Upgrade

Few sites see consistent traffic 24/7/365. Auto Scaling provides you with the ability to address these traffic fluctuations. For example, imagine that a small business owner named Jerry finds himself with consistent performance issues on Saturdays.

After analyzing the traffic, Jerry finds that Saturdays are particularly busy periods on his website. He thinks he might need to upgrade to a larger hosting solution, but after a cost-benefit analysis, he doesn’t see the ROI because  the other six days of the week don’t have any issues. So if he could adjust his cloud hosting resources only on Saturdays, then he can stick with his plan that makes sense, but address the traffic issue that needs to be managed.

He can do exactly that with Hostdedi Cloud Auto Scaling. All Jerry needs to do is leave the feature enabled (our Auto Scaling is enabled by default). On Saturdays, Auto Scaling will automatically add more resources to his site and he’ll reap the rewards of satisfied visitors that could turn into customers.

Eliminate Additional Costs

Every Hostdedi plan across Managed Magento, Managed WooCommerce and Managed WordPress gets 24 hours of auto-scaling for free. So, if you have traffic spikes for less than 24 hours a month it won’t cost you a single penny. You can get the benefits of a higher plan for your current plan cost.

Other hosts might force you to upgrade, or even worse, let your site crash forcing you to lose sales. We’re your business partner. And we’re not  in the business of letting you down.

Want to learn more? Check out our Hostdedi Cloud Auto Scaling documentation in our Knowledge Library.

What’s Next for the Enterprise? Advanced Auto Scaling

On a larger scale, if you’re looking for predictable performance for extreme traffic spikes, our Hostdedi Advanced Auto Scaling offering provides unlimited support for the heaviest of traffic loads without having to buy, configure, deploy and migrate to larger environments.

As an example, if you’re planning on a national TV appearance or you have an army of influencers who can drive traffic your way for a flash sale, with Advanced Auto Scaling, you can add as many resources as you need. Not just 10 PHP workers (which are the resources from the higher level plan), but 10, 20, 30, 40, or even more PHP workers to cover you without worry.

Advanced Auto Scaling costs $99/mo and which will shift all of the PHP workers from your current infrastructure into a PHP Container. As you need more resources (to be able to handle more concurrent users), you can add additional containers with 10 PHP workers a piece for $50/day. No commitment, no long-term contract.
With Hostdedi Auto Scaling and Advanced Auto Scaling, you are at-the-ready to handle traffic spikes whenever they occur.

5 Real Differences Between Cheap Hosting and Good Hosting

Have you ever looked at the price difference between two products and gone, “What the hell?? WHY is that one so much cheaper?”

It’s like buying something on Wish versus at Target – price is everything, but a race to the bottom is not without consequences. You get what you pay for typically, and when it comes to hosting technology, that’s especially true.

With so much technical terminology, it’s hard to really communicate exactly what the difference is between two dollar and 20 dollar hosting. It all sounds pretty much the same, right?

Fast. Secure. Reliable.

We’re normally pretty nice guys around here, but we’re also crazy honest – there’s a reason we don’t feel bad for not being the cheapest, and it’s the same reason that Target doesn’t feel bad for not being more like Wish.

What’s the Difference Between Managed and Unmanaged Hosting?

  • Application updates
  • Plugin updates
  • Malware monitoring

With managed applications from Hostdedi, you’re also getting a support team made of application subject matter experts, who understand coding and these applications enough to help you diagnose problems on both sides of things.

How Much Does Hosting Usually Cost?

Buying hosting is kinda like buying a data plan. You get a connection to a server, you get data limitations and storage space, and some technical infrastructure on the back end to make sure that everything is running smoothly.

On the managed hosting side of things, like what we do here at Hostdedi, you get a lot more than just that connection and storage space. You get a level of administrative service that, though largely automated, keeps your plugins working together nicely and your site up to date (because let’s face it: we all forget).

Hosting plans are structured similarly to data plans in that you get a certain amount of bandwidth and features and functionality at staggered price points.

For a simple website, hosting typically costs between $3 and $45 per month for basic, unmanaged hosting. For managed hosting, the range is more like $7 to $45 per month.

As you’re getting into more complex projects, like ecommerce websites, or sites with a lot of traffic and complex server demands, those plans tend to get more expensive.

The 5 Skeletons Hiding In Cheap Hosting’s Closet

#1 – Unlimited Bandwidth Isn’t Actually Unlimited

Have you ever increased your data plan for your home internet, only to find that your data overages turned into a slower connection?

It’s not in your head. This is called throttling, and it’s what happens when a user eats up a lot of bandwidth, but can’t be charged any overage fees.

The same thing is true for hosting. Though many cheap hosts claim to offer unlimited bandwidth, the reality is that there’s no such thing. Unless you’re dealing with a host with cloud infrastructure, it’s literally impossible for the bandwidth to be unlimited because you’re dealing with a physical server with physical capacity limitations.

#2 – They Use the Fine Print to Throttle Your Speed

Since unlimited bandwidth isn’t actually a thing, a lot of cheap hosting providers put weird clauses in their terms of service to make it technically legal for them to call their service unlimited, and then still, well, limit it.

For example, Godaddy has an ecommerce plan that offers unlimited bandwidth. The only catch? It’s against their terms of service to upload multimedia content to your website. No product videos for you, buddy.

#3 – Traffic Surges Will Produce 502 Errors

Related to unlimited bandwidth is a physical server’s inability to automatically scale your bandwidth and concurrency needs when you get a surge of traffic.

Long story short, if you have cheap hosting and you plan on killing it this holiday shopping season, you’re more likely to see llost sales due to 502 errors than record-breaking numbers.

#4 – When It Comes to Applications, You’re On Your Own

Cheap hosts typically have a very narrow scope of support. What this means is that when you’re having an issue and using an application, like WordPress or WooCommerce, you’re not likely to get much help out of them.

If it’s not server-side, you’re out of luck. They’re going to send you to the application’s support team, who will in turn, likely send you back and forth with a series of things to try, until you eventually scream in agony and throw your laptop out the nearest window.

Not good.

#5 – Cheap Hosting Usually Comes With a Long Term Commitment

In a lot of cases, cheap hosts know what they’re selling, and they know better than to make it easy for you to just walk away. That’s why in a lot of cases, those $3 hosting providers are going to try to get you to commit to a long term agreement that you’ll have to pay to get out of early.

Look, hosting is like the foundation and walls of your house. If someone asked you where you’d like to save money in building your new home, would you start there?

Of course not. Because literally your entire home is built on that stuff.

Hosting is no different, and scrimping on it to save a few bucks a month is akin to hiring the sketchiest contractor you can find to pour your foundation. It’s not worth the risk, and you don’t have to spend a lot to get great hosting anyway.

Buck up ya cheapskate – you’re not building websites because you have a ton of free time. You’re building them because you want your work out there in the world and you have a vision.

Don’t build your vision on a flimsy hosting foundation – build it with Hostdedi.

Passing the Torch – Hostdedi Blog

No matter where you stand politically, you can’t deny that Ruth Bader Ginsberg was a force. I have a special place in my heart for her as we’re both from Brooklyn. Her demeanor, her mannerisms, and her grit take me back to the 1970’s-1980’s New York of my youth. You don’t mess with Native Brooklynites. We don’t all sound like Tony Manero, but our strut is innate.

As working men and women, there are many reasons to be grateful for RBG’s contributions to our society. Her history is now documented everywhere – from no one hiring her after she graduated first in her class from Columbia, to losing her job because she got pregnant. Her personal challenges and beliefs drove her to fight for justice and equal protection under the law for all of us.

Navigating a Path to Leadership

I have worked in tech for 20+ years and we all know the stories. With the exception of crossing paths with one or two extraordinary female leaders during my career, I’ve seen first-hand the limitations and struggles faced by women, including myself, to navigate a path to leadership. When I landed at Hostdedi, the tides turned. It’s not lost on me that my peers and I are incredibly fortunate to work for a company that hires really smart individuals to do really smart things. Our culture, built on entrepreneurship, supports our strengths, our skill sets, and the ability to learn as you go.

Our COO is one of those extraordinary women. And we’ve got a plethora of women in leadership roles across the organization – Marketing, Operations, Sales, and Channel. We are surrounded by team members who recognize our achievements, respect our work, and look to us to pave the way as they navigate their own careers.

We didn’t get here by playing it safe. We all took risks. Got shot down. Were likely bypassed for promotions. Had others steal our ideas and claim them for their own. Maybe we didn’t talk enough. Or maybe we talked too much. Many of us had to figure out how to juggle managing a household and being a parent while still striving for professional success. These challenges are faced across traditional fields for women working outside of the home, but tech offers its own set of obstacles to overcome. Tenacity and confidence are key drivers that ensure you never give up on yourself. Even if others do.

A North Star for All of Us

RBG’s persistence and attitude towards her professional mission should be a North Star for all of us. A strong sense of self, confidence that doesn’t turn into arrogance, an honest interest in helping others, a passion for learning, and an ability to grow and evolve. These are key attributes for every leader, no matter their gender.

It is our duty to offer career paths to those that follow us. Opportunities to learn and grow. Mentorship to address issues that may be better than they were yesterday, but still require navigation. To empower our teams, welcome their ideas, be confident enough to recognize better ideas, and allow everyone to pursue greatness.

Thank you, Ruth. We will take what you’ve given us and pass the torch.

The Best WooCommerce Themes You Need Today

WooCommerce powers a vast number of ecommerce stores and is a very popular WordPress plugin that allows users to easily add ecommerce features and functions to a WordPress site.

Picking the best theme for your WooCommerce store will make or break how the site looks and performs. Picking a bloated theme that will cause issues for the store is something that you really want to avoid.

The two best theme options that work very well with WooCommerce are Astra and GeneratePress.

Astra

Astra theme is free and can be installed in wp-admin on your site, but the power for Astra comes with Astra Pro.

Astra Pro is provided at no cost on Managed WooCommerce plans on Hostdedi

Astra Pro is installed as a regular plugin which will unlock and extend the Astra theme. Astra Pro has a huge number of features and modules just for WooCommerce.

Also, the Astra theme is designed to work with a number of solid page builders like Beaver Builder and Elementor. Being able to use a solid and easy-to-use page builder will allow your store to look exactly as you like.

Astra Pro options can be easily enabled from wp-admin by going to:

Appearance > Astra Options

Make sure that the WooCommerce Pro module is activated in the Astra options setting to be able to control WooCommerce using the Astra theme.

You can make the WooCommerce related changes in the Astra theme using the customizer in wp-admin.

The Astra theme is designed to be a very clean starter theme which is feature rich but also one which is performance-based, and will not cause issues when using it with WooCommerce.

GeneratePress

The final theme recommended is GeneratePress, which is another very clean starter theme.

GeneratePress theme is also designed to work with most page builders and contains a page builder container setting. GeneratePress can also be extended using the premium plugin, which is installed as a regular plugin on your site in wp-admin.

GeneratePress premium includes a number of modules that will extend out the GeneratePress theme. GeneratePress will also work very well with WooCommerce which means you can use a very clean theme which is also designed to work with WooCommerce.

Astra Pro for the Win

While both of the two themes are solid choices, Astra with Astra Pro includes the most features and the most options to be able to extend the theme and control of how WooCommerce displays. Also, it works without having to use a lot of code snippets to control WooCommerce elements.

Don’t rush when choosing your store theme, as that saves time and money later with potential plugin or layout issues that may appear later as your store grows. No amount of site optimization is going to fix root issues on your store being caused by the active theme.

Managed WordPress with Hostdedi Includes Astra

Forget about researching themes and choose Managed WordPress with Hostdedi, which includes Astra out of the box along with AffiliateWP, WP 101, iThemes Security Pro and WP All Import Pro with the WooCommerce add-on.
